Show, shine, wine and dine

It’s back, a weekend of fancy cars, great wine and delicious food is once again taking place in West Kelowna.

The second annual Show’n Shine – Wine’n Dine hosted by Cops for Kids and Trucks Plus has expanded to include events for car enthusiasts and families with all funds going to assist children in crisis.

Starting today, May 30, cars will be participating in a lake-side cruise and lunch including some local attractions and sights of the Okanagan. The cruise will be followed up by a sold out steak and lobster dinner and dance at the Westbank Lions Community Hall for the Wine’n Dine portion of the weekend.

On Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Show’n Shine will showcase trucks, cars, motorcycles, and boats on display for families to view while taking in the kid’s carnival and farmers market vendors. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome to come down Governor’s Landing (the old Staples) on Louie Drive to check out the displays.

Cst. Fred Arnold is a rider and co-organizer of the event, who says he is excited to partner with Trucks Plus on the event.

“I’m so proud to be a part of Cops for Kids, and the generosity by Trucks Plus has shown what great community partners we’ve got here in West Kelowna. These folks are truly helping us make a difference to local children.”

Cops for Kids fund-raise throughout the year to support ongoing requests for families in crisis. For more information or to make a donation, please visit the website at www.copsforkids.org.
