A local man is facing serious charges after the man he allegedly stabbed in West Kelowna died in hospital.
Jose Amestica, 50, was arrested and originally charged with aggravated assaulted following the attack on April 29.
Police were called to the home on Solar Road in West Kelowna at approximately 1 p.m.
They located a 45-year-old man suffering from a serious stab wound. He was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital in critical condition.
On May 2, the unidentified man succumbed to his injuries.
At the time of the incident, Amestica was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and remanded in custody.
As the victim has now died, police are consulting with Crown counsel on more serious charges.
RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan says the investigation remains active.
