Car hits teen

A boy in his early teens was taken to Kelowna General Hospital after being stuck by a car on Shannon Lake Road near Shannon Way.

Officials at the scene say the boy had just disembarked a transit bus at the transit stop across the street from the Shannon Lake Convenience Store.

The boy attempted to cross Shannon Lake Road in front of the bus at the same time a vehicle pulled out and around the bus.

The transit driver apparently tried to get the female driver to stop to no avail.

She clipped the boy as he tried to pass the bus.

The force took off the side mirror of the vehicle.

The boy was taken to hospital with what officials at the scene said was a broken leg.
