West Kelowna blaze

An apparent bush fire raged on early this evening in West Kelowna setting ablaze power poles and nearby trees.

Fire crews were on the scene at Old Okanagan Highway and Butt Road fighting the blaze while many stood by and watched.

The power lines and pole were literally on fire and witnesses hoped electricity was being turned off.

Cedar trees were also burning but were brought under control.

It is unknown at this time what caused the fire or what sort of damage was sustained.

We will provide more details as they become available.
