Chronic missing teen returns

UPDATE 4:00 P.M. FRI DEC. 27:

RCMP say that Daniel Schmidt, 17, hahas returned home.

Police are on the search again for 17-year-old West Kelowna teen Daniel Schmidt. 

This is the third time Schmidt has gone missing in recent weeks. 

RCMP Cst. Kris Clark says, "Schmidt has a recent history of going missing and has actively avoided police in the past. Police simply need to confirm that he is safe."

On December 22 at 12:20 a.m. RCMP received a report of a missing teen from a residence on the 700 block of Wilson Avenue. 

Schmidt is described as:

• Caucasian
• 6' tall and 140 lbs with a slim build
• Shaved head, or very short black hair, and brown eyes

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Daniel Schmidt is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP 250-762-3300.
