Heavy machinery has been found

Update -- 1:45 p.m.

Kelowna RCMP have provided the following update:

"The heavy equipment which was originally believed to be stolen from a secure compound in Peachland has been located. Fortunately, nothing was ever actually stolen and it had simply been moved to a more secure location by personnel."

The West Kelowna RCMP are searching for clues after some heavy machinery was stolen from the Ponderosa Golf Club last week.

They received a report of a break and enter on Dec. 21 and believe that someone had entered the secured compound sometime in the previous three days and stolen several excavator attachments.

According to Cst. Kris Clark, “the company’s own excavator would've likely been used to lift the attachments onto a trailer as it is all very heavy equipment.”

A red ‘Rammer’ hydraulic hammer, a yellow and grey 'Stanley' hoe pack and a 'Wacker' walk-behind packer were all taken with a total value of nearly $70,000.

The hydraulic hammer itself weighs approximately 5000 pounds and is valued at $50,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call the West Kelowna RCMP and contact Cst. Evoy at 250-768-2880.

You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
