Fire destroys mobile home
A man is homeless after a fire destroyed his mobile home at 3807 Feeny Rd. in Kelowna Wednesday morning.
The home was fully engulfed by the time firefighters were on the scene. The call came in at 11:30 a.m..
Fire crews secured a perimeter around the flaming trailer, stopping the fire from spreading to other buildings.
Deputy Fire Chief Dale Calhoun says it was a defensive type fire.
"With the building fully engulfed in there it is unsafe for anyone to go in. Reports came back through a person that was on scene here saying that there was nobody in there."
A person who knows the home owner says no one was injured, but they have not located his two cats. The man also has two sons, 7 and 9, who live there every second weekend and they have also lost everything.
More details to follow.
