“HELP NATE” FUNDRAISER FOR LOCAL PEACHLAND FAMILY
Friends and family of Peachland couple, Lawrence and Vivian Cody, are working together to plan a fundraiser on November 2 to “Help Nate”.
Nate was born August 8, 2013 with a perforated bowel, forcing him to be emergency air lifted to Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
With a slim chance of survival, the newborn underwent emergency surgery to repair the damage. He will remain at Children’s Hospital for several months while he awaits further surgeries and receives ongoing medical care.
The travel from Vancouver to Peachland to care for their 3 -year- old daughter Alexa, who is staying with her grandparents, gas, accommodations, groceries, and time forced away from work is taking a financial and emotional toll on Lawrence and Vivian. Friends of the young family are trying to help.
On November 2 they are hosting a Burger & Beer night at Whiskey Jack’s Pub in West Kelowna featuring a Silent Auction with all proceeds going to the Cody family.
Tickets for the Burger & Beer night are $20, which gets you a burger and a pint.
Some of the silent auction items include Okanagan wine baskets, spa gift certificates, a weekend at Big White, a Sunshine Coast waterfront weekend getaway and more.
For those unable to attend the “Help Nate” Fundraiser, a Trust Fund for Lawrence and Vivian has been set up, and donations can be made at local TD Banks to the Lawrence Cody in Trust account (#9151-6383817).
Tickets are available at the door on the night of the event or by calling Lara at (250) 868-7114.
