Rockets ready for weekend

The Kelowna Rockets are back in action this weekend against two divisional rivals.

They face the Kamloops Blazers tonight and the Victoria Royals on Saturday.

Tonight's game is in Kamloops, where the Rockets downed Kamloops 2-1 in a shootout on Thursday.

Saturday, they're back at Prospera Place to host the Royals.

Assistant coach Travis Crickard says the team needs to make a few minor adjustments.

"We need to shoot the puck more, hit the net on the power play, work harder on the forecheck, and get engaged as a unit when taking faceoff's," Crickard said. "Every game against a divisional opponent is a big game."

The Rockets enter tonight's game with a record of 21-11-2-0. That gives them 45 points and sole possession of first place in the B.C. Division.

Kelowna will be without captain Cal Foote and assistant captain Dillon Dube, as they are in Buffalo, N.Y., taking part in the World Junior Championships for Team Canada, with Dube wearing the captain's jersey.
