Rockets fall in overtime

The Kelowna Rockets fell 4-3 to the Tri-City Americans in overtime Wednesday night in Kennewick, Wash.

Kole Lind got the Rockets started with his ninth of the year 3:12 in to the opening frame. Kyle Olson tied things up for the Americans at 5:41. The Americans collected another before the period was out, and Kelowna trailed 2-1 after 20 minutes.

After the Americans extended their lead to two, Nolan Foote notched a power play marker to bring the Rockets back within one. The score was 3-2 in TC's favour after 40 minutes.

Jack Cowell tied things up for the Rockets in the later stages of the third, and for the second time in three meetings, Kelowna and Tri-City were headed to overtime.

Michael Rasmussen scored in overtime to defeat the Rockets 4-3.

James Porter made 37 stops on 41 shots as the Rockets were outshot 41-32.

Kelowna's record is now 7-5-2-1.

The next stop for the Rockets is in Victoria, where they play back to back nights against the Royals Friday and Saturday.

Kelowna is back home again Nov. 10, when they host the Vancouver Giants.
