Rockets fall to T-Birds

The Kelowna Rockets saw their mini three-game winning streak come to an end Saturday night in Seattle.

The T-Birds scored four times with the man advantage en route to a 5-3 victory over the Rockets.

Ryan Gropp did all the damage for Seattle in the opening period. The Kamloops native scored goals 2:16 apart to give Seattle a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Ethan Bear made it 3-0 on the power play early in the second period before Dillon Dube got one back for the Rockets on a penalty shot.

Keegan Kolesar answered back with another T-Bird power play putting the home side up 4-1 after 40,

Reid Gardiner on a Kelowna power play and Kyle Topping both scored in the third, sandwiched around Gropp's third of the night on another Seattle power play.

The T-Birds scored four times with the man advantage on nine opportunities.

As the game ended, Devante Stephens of the Rockets and Seattle's Nolan Volcan dropped the gloves while others around engaged in pushing and shoving. Both received fighting majors while four other players were assessed roughing minors.

The Rockets conclude a three-game weekend Sunday afternoon in Spokane.

They return home to host BC Division leading Prince George Wednesday.
