Enderby woman killed in crash


Update: Highway 97A reopened at 10 p.m. Wednesday.


At least one person is dead as a result of a two vehicle crash on Highway 97A just south of Enderby.

RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk, says the crash occurred late Wednesday afternoon involving a semi transport and a van.

The van was sent into a field and burst into flames.

Molendyk says a child was able to escape the vehicle.

"I can confirm it is a fatality," says Molendyk.

"I can't says at this time how many people have died."

Two people have been taken to hospital with what have been described as minor injuries.

Highway 97A is closed in both directions. Vehicles are being detoured around the scene.
