A Summerland contractor is out of work thanks to some brazen thieves.
The crooks stole the man's cargo trailer early Wednesday morning from a construction site on Lakeshore Resort on Lakeshore Dr. in Summerland. It's believed the theft occurred at around 4:30 a.m.
Police say the suspects disconnected a security chain from the trailer -- hooked it up to pick-up truck and drove away.
The trailer is worth $9,000 and contained the contractor’s "uninsured" tools worth an additional $15,000.
"The owner of the trailer and tools, a self-employed contractor is quite anxious to recover his property so he can make a living and support his family," says Sgt. Rick Bigland of Summerland RCMP.
Anyone who spots the trailer or knows anything about the theft is asked to contact your nearest local RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS.
