On February 28, as part of the BC Jobs Plan, a job fair will take place in Vernon. The event is free and open to anyone looking to connect with a local employer.
Employers at the Vernon job fair will include union IBEW Local 993. They provide work for certified journeymen and apprentices in northern BC and the Yukon, the Investors Group, BCAA, Kal Tire, Maple Leaf Loading Ltd., Predator Ridge Resort, Tolko Industries and Lia Sophia.
The interactive BC Jobs Start Here mobile exhibit and a new skills training booth will provide visitors with the latest information about job trends, career development and skills training in B.C.
“The job fair coming to Vernon is a perfect opportunity for people in the North Okanagan to meet face-to-face with employers and exhibitors to discuss career options and various study and training opportunities,” said Vernon-Monashee MLA Eric Foster
As part of the BC Jobs Plan, job fairs are being held in 23 communities between January 22 and March 28.
The event will take place at the Vernon Recreation Complex, 3310 37th Avenue, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
