1500 without power after car crash

Around 1500 people are without power in Vernon, Lake Country and Coldstream after two car accidents occurred less than one hour apart.
The majority of people without power are those living between Vernon and Winfield, between highway 97 and Okanagan Lake.
The first accident happened just after 1:30 p.m. and the second accident just after 2 p.m.
BC Hydro estimates that power will be restored by 5 p.m. tonight.
