Vernon and North Okanagan

At least one person has been sent to hospital following a collision between a car and a transit bus in Lake Country.

The accident occurred near Hwy. 97 and Crystal Waters Road, and emergency workers struggled to open the vehicles doors in order to help those inside.

There is no word on the severity of the person’s injuries, but they were placed onto a stretcher and taken to a waiting ambulance.

A snowfall warning in effect for the North Okanagan may have played a part in the accident, as roads are believed to have been slippery.
