Downtown association's new director
President and Board Chair, Ruth Hoyte of the Downtown Vernon Association announces a new face at the helm of the Association.
Louise Delaney has stepped into the position of Executive Director of the Downtown Vernon Association. The position was left vacant when David Hull resigned shortly after being hired.
“Having gone through a recent hiring process, we were very fortunate to have a significant number of qualified candidates, we opted to review the top short listed candidates, rather than conduct a new search”.
“Louise comes to us with an extensive background in marketing and project development, as well as experience working with Business Improvement Areas, we are very excited to have her join our team," says Hoyte.
Louise brings with her experience in the field.
“I have come to the position with downtown management experience in hand. I was the Manager of the Salmon Arm Downtown Improvement Association where I was instrumental in developing and executing revitalization, beautification, promotional and branding projects which gave the extra “zip” that the city needed to increase downtown appeal, economic viability and an increased sense of community, which made the heart beat stronger in the core”.
“I have only been in the position for a short time and those of you that I have met have been so welcoming. It has been wonderful to know that so many merchants, businesses, organizations and City personnel are interested and involved in making the downtown the exciting and prosperous hub that it continues to be”.
