Stabbing victim in serious condition
A 44-year-old Vernon man is in serious, but stable, condition at VJH after he was stabbed several times Monday night in Polson Park.
Police say they were called to the park about 9:30 p.m.following reports of the stabbing.
RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says the victim underwent surgery at VJH after suffering multiple stab wounds.
Following up on leads from witnesses in the area, Molendyk says police were able to arrest a 35-year-old man at a separate location.
"Police are currently holding two separate locations in the city they believe are related to this altercation," says Molendyk.
Both men reside in Vernon.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen or heard the altercation in Polson Park to call the Vernon Detachment or Crime Stoppers.
