Tumble from motorbike kills rider

Update: Nathan William Halisheff, 33, of Caldonald, Alta, has been identified as the victim of the fatal motorcycle accident that occurred near Vernon on, July 17. 

A 33-year-old Alberta man was killed early Tuesday evening after he fell from his motorcycle and was run over by a truck.

The crash occurred about 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 97 and Stickle Road.

The man was rushed to Vernon Jubilee Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police at the scene say the driver of the motorcycle was entering the highway northbound from Stickle Road when he lost control and was ejected from the bike.

A northbound pick-up truck pulling an RV made contact with the rider.

The victim was from the community of Clandonald, northwest of Lloydminster.

Police say road conditions were good at the time of the crash.

An RCMP accident reconstructionist will examine the scene later in the day to try and determine the cause.
