----------
A 51-year-old Edmonton businessman has been killed during an accident involving a golf cart at Predator Ridge Golf course just south of Vernon.
The incident occurred about 7:15 Thursday evening.
The man was driving the cart when witnesses say he veered off to the right at the tee off area of the 16th hole and went over the embankment leading onto the paved road.
The drop was at least 20 feet.
The cart landed on top of the victim, resulting in massive head injuries.
A second man, 44 from Calgary, in the cart, was transported to hospital with undetermined injuries. He has since been released from hospital.
Witnesses say they don't believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
The victim was one of 16 men from the Forzani Group in Edmonton.
They were on the first day of an annual golf trip.
RCMP and the BC Coroner's Service are investigating.
