Press Release
January 27, 2004
The coroner's office released the report to the media this week. As is
unfortunately typical in the death of an athlete, speculation of performance enhancers playing a role in Jeff's passing circulated. Anyone who knew Jeff Halvorson had no doubt those substances played no role in his life or death.
The Okanagan Sun encourages its athletes to train drug free. The club
participates in anti-doping testing as well as drug education through Sport
Canada and CCES.
Had there been any drugs involved in Jeff's death, his family and the
Okanagan Sun would release the report in order to prevent a future tragedy.
The club is releasing the report, now to end speculation in Jeff's passing
The report can be viewed on the Sun’s website
