A Lake Country man who drowned in Kalamalka Lake Thursday night has been identified.
The body of Gary Roos, 47, was pulled out of Kal Lake near Kakuli Bay about 7:30 p.m.
Police say a local resident and his family were out boating and noticed an empty boat. Nearby he discovered a life jacket and near that he found a body.
Roos' ex-wife, Heidi, says Gary picked up the boat at a friend's house in Lavington with another man.
Heidi Roos says she would like to know who that other friend was and whether he was with Gary in the boat before he drowned.
She says Gary Roos left behind two children, a six-year-old son and a three-and-a-half year old daughter.
He was employed as a sales rep with a company which was promoting organic fertilizers.
Prior to that, Roos was an irrigation specialist at Predator Ridge and Sunset Ranch golf course.
Heidi Roos says she doesn't believe her ex-husband had used the aluminum boat in quite some time but indicated it was quite unsteady the only time she was on the boat.
"What condition it was in now I don't know, but I was a little hesitant when I went on it myself. It was a little wobbly," says Roos.
