Vernon RCMP Auxiliary Funeral

A Vernon RCMP auxiliary killed last weekend in a tragic accident will be laid to rest this Saturday while his partner clings to life.

Glen Evely, 39, was killed after a stolen pick-up truck struck his police cruiser. His partner, Constable Frank Grenier, 44, is lying in a drug-induced coma at Kelowna General. He was listed as serious but stable.

Evely's RCMP funeral will be held at the Vernon Alliance Church beginning at 1 p.m. followed by a reception at the Seaton High School gymnasium, in Vernon. His family is holding a private memorial service.

Evely had a wife and two young boys. A trust fund for his family is being arranged by Vernon RCMP.
