Naramata Explosion

A Naramata man is in hospital suffering from burns following an explosion Sunday.

Officials say the man had been working on a car with a welding torch in a garage when a small fire started. They say the man tried to put it out with an extinguisher and there was a big explosion.

The man was blown out of the garage and suffered second-degree burns.

His name has not been released.

The ensuing fire from the explosion destroyed two cars, a truck, two snowmobiles and two ATV's.
