Standing on the street with a gun and drugs has landed a man in jail.
A man from Abbotsford is facing charges after being found with a gun in the North Okanagan.
RCMP in Vernon responded to a report of a man with a gun just after 3:30 p.m. Friday in the area near the Monashees Bar and Grill.
Spokesperson for the RCMP, Gord Molendyk, says a 24-year-old man was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.
“He also had a quantity of drugs on him. The man, a resident of Abbotsford, was arrested and he is expected to appear in court later Monday to answer to the charges,” says Molendyk.
He says the man is facing charges of prohibited weapon with ammunition, tampering with a serial number and possession of a controlled substance.
