Cherryville-area resident Robert Bruce Peoples, 46, has now been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle traffic accident this week.

A fellow worker went looking for him and discovered the mishap after he failed to turn up for work.

Peoples' vehicle, a GMC Envoy, went over a 200-foot embankment along Highway 6 near the North Okanagan community.

It has been towed into Vernon for a mechanical inspection as part of the ongoing investigation by RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service.
