Lake Country Burning

Last week we published the following...

"Outdoor burning is banned on all properties that are under two acres in size in the Westside and Ellison/Joe Rich Electoral Areas of the Regional District, in the City of Kelowna and in the District of Lake Country. The District of Peachland allows burning year round on all sizes of property."

Our apologies, we got it wrong with regard to Lake Country. Thanks to an alert Castanet reader for pointing this out. The Lake Country Fire Department says the following...

"Lake Country allows outdoor burning during two burning periods - March 1st to April 15 and October 15th to November 30th. A burning permit must be purchased and only permitted materials may be burned. Each day before burning, the permit holder must confirm that burning is allowed that day by calling an Environment Canada phone number."
