Paramedic boss thrown in the clink by Vernon's Carnival Cops

Beware those Carnival Cops

Paramedics are used to being the ones called upon in an emergency.

On Monday, Vernon paramedic chief Scott Lequesne was the one calling for help.

Lequesne was the 'victim' of colleague and Vernon Winter Carnival director Camille McCluskey, who had him 'arrested' as part of carnival's Arrest the Best program.

Carnival Cops Rod Koenig and John Fawcett threw Lequesne in the clink after slapping the cuffs on him for "crimes against hilarity," according to his arrest warrant.

"Ye shall here be taken into custody for complete embarrassment and thereby pay your debt to society," the warrant stated.

Bail was set at $150, and Lequesne was forced to dial for dollars to regain his freedom.

He outdid himself, raising $404 in less than hour.

All funds raised by Arrest the Best go back into carnival events.

Beware – the Cops may corner you if they see you without a winter carnival button.
