RCMP are in the process of dismantling a crystal meth lab just outside the tiny North Okanagan community of Lumby.
The lab, in a home in the 200 block of Bear Valley Road, was raided late Thursday night.
Police believe clean-up crews will be at the home for a few days while the lab is carefully dismantled.
"These sites are extremely dangerous, requiring specialized equipment and training in order to seize and transport the evidence," says Corporal, Henry Proce.
"RCMP members are being assisted by the Lumby Fire Department, B.C. Ambulance and Health Canada chemists."
Proce says a 40-year-old man and 31-year-old female were both arrested at the scene. Their names will be released once charges are approved.
"The pair were involved in the large scale manufacturing of crystal meth. The drugs being produced were for financial gain, not personal use."
