A home still under construction in a new subdivision in Vernon went up in flames Thursday night.
The call came in about 10:30.
The house, in the 3700 block of Razorback Court, is nearly a write-off according to Deputy Vernon Fire Chief, Rick Owens.
"Two thirds of the upper floor is pretty much destroyed. There's only maybe a third of the roof still intact," says Owens.
He says the house was fully involved when fire crews made it to the scene.
"As soon as the guys pulled out of the fire hall they could see the glow in the sky, so they knew there wasn't much of a chance."
Owens and fire investigators were at the scene Friday morning, sifting through the rubble to try and determine a cause.
He says nobody was working at the home when it went up in flames.
