More arrests following undercover op

More arrests have been made following an undercover operation in the North Okanagan.

Constable Cathy Scott says four more people have been arrested as a result of an undercover operation which focused on street level drug trafficking around the Upper Room Mission.

“Further arrests have been made as a result of the operation that took place in Vernon between January 10 and 13. On February 1, the following were arrested by Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP: Robert McCarrol, 49, Chris Younker, 38, Ronald Cawthorne, 47 and Rozmin Sayani, 40,” says Scott.

She says McCarrol and Sayani have been released while Cawthorne and Younker remain in custody.

Scott says 27.6 grams of crack cocaine, $1,255 in Canadian funds and a number of cellular phones were seized during the operation.

"During the course of the operation it became clear that the area around the Upper Room Mission continues to be an area of high drug activity. However, police did note that staff at the Upper Room Mission were taking an active stance to deter this type of behaviour."
