Forestry crews are battling a couple of large forest fires located within the Vernon Fire Centre.
The first one is the Taylor Creek Fire. It's located east of Mabel Lake and has grown to 30 hectares.
Forestry officials say the fire is burning in rugged terrain and is not posing a threat to any structures at this time.
But the same can't be said for the second fire. The Woodward Creek Fire is located 3 kms west of the Cherryville dump and is eight hectares in size. The nearest structures are about 1 km away. Forestry officials say there are no evacuation alerts at this time.
There are more than 570 active fires burning in BC.
