Speeding through a school zone has resulted in drug charges against a 41-year-old Edgewood man.

RCMP say they pulled over a Ford Ranger pick-up for speeding in front of Coldstream Elementary School Thursday morning.

"Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of two large plastic baggies containing marijuana," says RCMP Constable, Steve Ouston. "Police also seized $6,000 in cash which was located in the cab of the vehicle."

The unidentified man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He will appear in court in November.
