Road Checks Coming

Vernon RCMP are giving motorists a heads-up. They'll be out in force this coming weekend targeting drinking and driving, aggressive drivers and seatbelt violators.

Police say road checks could be set up anywhere and at anytime.

There will be a zero tolerance for offenders.

If you're caught, you will face fines which include:

• Speeding - $138 to $483
  
• Failure to wear a seatbelt - $138
  
• Impaired Driving - Minimum fine of $600, a one-year license suspension and a 24-hour vehicle impound. You will also get a criminal record.
