The Westside is rallying in support of one of their own.
Jonathan Neitsch, a grade eight student at Glenrosa Middle School, is battling cancer at Vancouver Children's Hospital.
His father Alf has been waging his own battle with Parkinson's Disease for the past 14 years.
Jonathan's own illness means his father is no longer able to work and the two illnesses have left a huge financial burden on the family.
Jonathan Neitsch has also been a member of the Westside Minor Hockey Association, playing with the Bantam B team this past season until he was forced to leave due to his illness.
Westside Fire and Rescue and the Westside Minor Hockey Association are rallying the community and raising funds for the Neitsch family with a car wash Saturday, March 31 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at both the Westbank Zellers and Save On Foods locations.
