Get ready to swap those skis

While SilverStar only got a hint of snow over the weekend, the downhill and cross country ski season is rapidly approaching. 

A sure sign of the times is the annual Vernon ski swap announcement.

“The Vernon Ski Club is a non-profit organization and the Vernon Ski Swap is our big annual fund raising event. We appreciate your support," said event volunteer Ross Blankley.

The 51st Annual Vernon Ski & Snowboard Swap is set for Oct. 19 and supports the non-profit Vernon Ski Club.

It will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Vernon Recreation Centre at 3310 37th Ave.

You'll be able to browse through new and used equipment and clothing to get outfitted for the season.

Consignments should be submitted on Oct. 18 from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Consignment tickets are $2 at the door. Payouts will be made from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
