Traffic was backed up along Highway 97 just south of the Predator Ridge turn-off Sunday afternoon as a result of a three car crash.
The accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m.
Witnesses at the scene say a northbound blue station wagon appeared to lose control, cross the centre-line and slide sideways a few hundred metres.
An on-coming southbound van slammed into the passenger side of the wagon, sending the van off the road, and through a field before coming to rest against a fence.
A third vehicle sustained minor damage when it was clipped by one of the other vehicles.
Witnesses say the jaws-of-life were required to extract the driver of the van.
She was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
