A Vernon man is facing several charges after allegedly breaking into two occupied homes Sunday.
Police say the suspect broke into a residence in the 500 block of Tern Place at 3 am. The owners woke up to find the suspect standing at the foot of their bed -- armed with a hammer. The man fled as police were dispatched to the scene.
Moments later, the man broke into another occupied home where again, he woke up the occupants -- this time a woman and her young daughter. During his escape, the man stole the family's car, but police heard it start-up and pulled it over moments later.
The accused has been identified as Joshua John Pariseau -- no stranger to police. He was out on bail with a strict night time curfew. He's facing seven additional criminal charges and remains in custody.
