Easter eggs and education

Vernon's Allan Brooks Nature Centre kicked off their 2019 season Saturday with an Easter egg hunt.

The festivities began at 10:30 a.m., when the centre held two hunts for older kids and the younger ones. In anticipation of Earth Day on Monday, the centre also had educational stations set up, in addition to the candy.

“Today is our grand opening, so we are officially open for the season,” said Chantelle Adams, education program co-ordinator.

“We’ve redone our discovery room, and there’s new activities in there. And we have booths set-up for kids to do Earth Day activities.”

The Centre will be open Tuesday through Saturday until the May long weekend. They'll open on Sundays after that.
