Predator Ridge in full swing

Madison Erhardt

Predator Ridge has officially teed off for the season with a number of amenities and activities.

''There are very few communities like Predator Ridge anywhere in Canada. Our homeowners don't have to go anywhere to really appreciate this region,'' said senior vice president Brad Pelletier.

''We have over 1,000 programmed events for our residents to enjoy every year,'' Pelletier added

One of the main programs is 'Swing Like A Girl'.

''To get people ready to go out on the golf course we arm them with skills to know what club to use and how to approach a shot. There are no stupid questions,'' said Instructor Kyla Inaba.

The program is built by former LPGA Tour player, AJ Eathorne.

A new feature this year is a state-of-the-art pickleball facility.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net.

''It's the fastest growing racket ball sport in North America. It's so great because anybody can really play it. You don't need any previous experience. You can start when you're 60, five or anywhere in between,'' said facility manager Joachim Nierfeld.
