In the early hours of Saturday morning a nineteen year old female was walking in the Lake City Casino parking lot in Vernon when she was confronted by a man in a dirty, older model mini-van.
The man jumped out of the vehicle and demanded the victim give him her purse.
After grabbing the purse, the man fled in the van.
The perpetrator is described as a Caucasian male, 40 to 50 years old, with gray or blonde hair, balding on top.
He is about 5'8" tall with a husky build, and was wearing a turtleneck or other piece of clothing around his neck, possibly as a partial disguise.
He was holding a brown bottle of beer with a white label at the time of the theft.
The vehicle was described as being light blue or silver, and was an older model American-made mini van.
The stolen purse is described as an 80’s acid-wash denim purse with a long thin strap.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crimestoppers or Vernon RCMP at 645-7171.
