Campaign falls short

They may have fallen short of their goal, but officials with the Salvation Army are “extremely pleased with the support of the community.”

The annual Christmas Kettle Campaign collected $414,680 of its $500,000 goal.

“First and foremost, we want to thank our community for their tremendous support. The funds that are raised at Christmas not only help out individuals and families during the holiday season but it provides much needed support all year round,” said Lt. Stefan Reid, adding although totals were down, programming and support will continue with minimal disruption to the community.

They also remind people donations can be made throughout the year by stopping by the House of Hope, 3303-32nd Ave.
