Merritt RCMP arrested four youths on the weekend following a targeted sting operation.
After a rash of vandalism and break ins in the downtown area, RCMP organized a targeted enforcement operation aimed a catching the criminals in the act.
Early in the morning on Saturday, November 25, RCMP witnessed and apprehended four people who had thrown rocks into the window of the Merritt Public Library.
The four later confessed to have done this same type of vandalism before.
Two males, age 19 and 17 and two females, age 19 and 15, have been charged with mischief.
During interviews with police, the four said they had no reason for the vandalism other than looking for something crazy to do.
