Cumming wins the votes

UPDATED: 9:25 p.m.

Preliminary results indicate that Vernon's Victor Cumming (4,928 votes) has been elected as the city's new mayor.

Cumming was followed in order by Darrin Taylor (3,608 votes), Erik Olesen (990 votes) and Art Gourley (229 votes.)

Six city councilors were elected in the following order:

Brian Quiring with 4,120 votes.

Scott Anderson with 4,108 votes.

Dalvir Nahal with 3,891 votes. 

Keri Gares with 3,878 votes.

Akbal Mund with 3,626 votes.

Kelly Fehr with 3,512 votes.

In less than 20 minutes Castanet will be going live from Vernon's City Hall with the local municipal election results at 8 p.m.

It could take up to 30 minutes for the final results to be released.
