Up, down, up, down

They're up, they're down, they're up, they're down.

It's getting hard to keep track of the price of a litre of gas in Vernon recently as prices are bouncing all over the place.

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, some stations in Vernon were selling a litre of petrol for 131.9.

And while it may be a sad commentary on life in B.C., that is the 'cheap' gas with many stations jacking up the price to 145.9 – a significant difference.

A few Vernon stations are hanging on to the lower price, but many have embraced the price hike leaving motorists to search for the cheapest way to fill up their vehicle.

According to gasbuddy.com, the price of the liquid gold in Kelowna is 145.9 across the board.

Further south, a litre of gas in Penticton is going for a 'mere' 129.9 with some stations at 131.9.

And of course, the most expensive gas around is in Vancouver which is selling for 150.9.

Our cousins in Calgary are paying 119.9 per litre.
