SRI Homes in Lake Country is behind a picket line for the first time in 43 years.
Employees, members of the United Steelworkers Union, local 1-423, launched legal strike action Thursday morning.
The last agreement between the two sides expired June 30 of this year.
Company officials say an offer was accepted by the union negotiators in September, however, membership turned it down.
A mediator met with both sides, but booked out October 30 without success.
Plant Manager, Jim Stevenson, says the company is anxious to reach a settlement as soon as possible for everyone concerned.
SRI Homes employs about 180 workers.
