Yesterday Salmon Arm RCMP responded to the complaint of a distraught 50 year old man in the Canoe area of Salmon Arm. It was reported that he had access to firearms.
RCMP found the man in the residence by himself when they secured the area. A nearby elementary school was "locked down" to ensure that students did not venture in the direction of the incident. The school staff coordinated the safe movement of the children after the school day ended.
At 8:30 pm emergency response teams entered the residence and found the man dead. No other details are available.
