North OK Traffic Safety

North Okanagan Traffic Services, in conjunction with RCMP from Vernon and Kamloops conducted road checks on Highway 97 near Falkland recently.

In all about 100 commercial and 500 other vehicles were checked.

Twenty-seven violation tickets and nine notices and orders were issued to commercial vehicles.

Another 26 violation tickets and 18 notices and orders were issued to non-commercial vehicles.

In addition, five charges for no insurance were issued along with one 24-hour suspension for drugs. Five vehicles were towed.

NOTS will continue to work with other agencies to make sure North Okanagan highways remain safe.
