Dark history on big screen

The Towne Theatre will be showing That Never Happened, a documentary on First World War internment camps from across the nation this evening.

Produced by Ryan Boyko of Armistice Films, the dark history of Canada will on the big screen at 7:15 p.m.

Boyko has produced several documentaries on internment camps, including one that was located in Vernon where WL Seaton Secondary School is now.

“Most people say 'Well, I didn't know that happened.' Or, 'No one really talked about that,'” said Boyko. “I think this is a very important event in Canadian history because it was the first time that people's civil rights were officially suspended by the government, so it's important for us to remember this, it's important to us to think about it and look back as we make policy going forward in the future.”
