A pedestrian has been struck while crossing the street in Vernon.
An elderly woman was walking along the crosswalk at 30th Avenue and 30th Street when she was struck by a truck turning left onto 30th Street at about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Emergency crews were on scene and the injured woman has been escorted to Vernon Jubilee Hospital on a stretcher by ambulance.
The male driver of the green truck which struck the pedestrian "was on his way to renew his insurance," according to a bystander.
The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.
